Tips to be Prepared for a Photoshoot
Glamorous, fun and exciting! Having a photoshoot is a great way to spoil yourself or celebrate a milestone. In this blog entry, I'll be focusing mostly on fitness related shoots, but some of the Tips to be Prepared for a Photoshoot could be used for other types of shoots like corporate headshots, or maternity. So let's get started with some things to do leading up to the shoot and also things to take with you on set.

Food Friday!
Juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, these Zucchini Fries are addictive!
This Food Friday recipe allows for a slight indulgence while still being healthier
than it's pub version. Makes a great appetizer or side dish to mix up your
vegetable serving with dinner.
Pairs great with Greek yogurt as a dip!

Fit Tip!
As you've probably noticed from my Food Friday recipes, I love treats! I guess you could say I have a sweet tooth. Most of the day will pass without a hitch, but it's at night that I want to indulge in cake, pastries, and pie. My favourite way to rid those sweet cravings, without giving in of course, is to drink tea. For me, it can't be a regular tasting tea like earl grey or green, but it must be a fun tea! Some of my favourites are blueberry, raspberry, sweet orange and licorice. Next time you are struggling not to eat a world of treats, give tea a try! Often times it's enough to distract you until the craving passes!

| Here is my favourite variety pack of tea. It's by Celestial Seasonings and has smaller packets inside with several of each type included. The flavours are stronger, which is something I really like. The types included are raspberry, peach, wild berry, blackcherry and blueberry. |

A moist muffin with a soft delicate flavour, these Matcha Muffins are delicious!
This Food Friday recipe is gluten free, made without flour or even butter. In addition,
matcha powder (made by finely stone grinding specially grown green tea leaves)
is a powerful antioxidant and detoxifier.

A healthy yummy treat, especially when still warm and fresh from the oven.

Behind the Scenes
What an adventure deciding to relocate my business has been! Adventure is probably an understatement. There has been emotions of excitement, frustration, pride and a sense of being totally over my head all rolled into one. Despite the roller coaster of renovating the new space, I'm happy I decided to take this leap of faith and expand.
Every single wall had been painted brown. Anyone who knows me and the importance I put on brand cohesiveness, knows brown would be a no go. Task number 1, paint every wall white or the blue I use with JW Couture. I invested in the best paint/primer combo but despite this it still took 4 coats to cover the previous colour. I was at the end of my painting patience, let me tell you. There was even a wall with wood textured wallpaper on it. That took 2 people 4 hours to remove.

I'm basically obsessed with granola of all kinds! Since homemade is always better,
I decided to try making Carrot Cake Granola for a healthy snack
(and also to use up the carrot pulp left over from juicing). Delicious and healthy,
enjoy this Food Friday recipe by the handful, with almond milk or on Greek yogurt!

Happy Halloween!
My favourite time of year! I love Fall, making costumes, time with friends and...treats! haha Halloween nicely wraps all those things together. I've been busy making competition suits for the many bodybuilding shows in Atlantic Canada, and just finished working registration for the New Brunswick Championships. Judging the show tomorrow, and for that reason I'll be relaxing at home instead of celebrating Halloween. Guess that's what happens when you grow up, other things take precedence. ;) Hope you all get to dress up in crazy costumes and enjoy the night with friends!
Bumday Sunday!

My First Cover!
Pinch Me!!! How exciting it is to receive my first cover! And not too shabby with Australia's top female fitness publication Women's Health & Fitness Magazine.
Huge thanks to photographer Dave Laus for capturing and submitting this image. Also thanks to the make-up and hair team of Two Chicks and Some Lipstick. An added bonus, the red bottoms on the cover are my own with JW Couture!

It seems like people are simply obsessed with Nutella! What's not to love about a sweet chocolate hazelnut spread anyway? This Food Friday version of Homemade Nutella is far healthier than the store bought variety and has a flavourful wholesome taste. Enjoy on some apple slices, bananas, stirred into oatmeal or even spread on rice cakes…the possibilities are endless!
