To anyone who celebrated St. Patrick's Day, I hope you had a great time! If maybe you drank too much green beer, try this green shake to help recover from a rough night on the town.
- benefits include: boosted immune system from Vitamin A, increased muscle/neural communication from potassium, cleanses and oxygenates the blood and extracts liver toxins from chlorophyll.
Ingredients:
- 1 medium banana (peeled and pre-frozen will nicely chill the shake)
- 1 large handful of fresh spinach
- 1/2 small apple (sliced and peeled)
- 250ml unsweetened almond milk
Directions:
- pour the almond milk into the blender
- add the spinach
- on top, add the pieces of apple and also the peeled frozen banana (break into chunks)
- blend on high until the shake is completely smooth (NOTE: if the blades will not grab the spinach try adding small amounts of extra almond milk, and/or stopping to stir)
- pour in a glass, over ice if desired, and enjoy!
